Web 2.0 : Num Sum

link: http://numsum.com/

This website is an online spreadsheet.

I started teaching Statistics last year and I want to do more projects in the class, this will require data collection. Num Sum allows users to share spreadsheets and work on them collaboratively. This would allow a group of students to work on a project individually and share their data without having to spend time in class or find time to meet together as a group.

It doesn't have all the statistical functions of Microsoft Excel but that could be good. Instead of having the spread sheet calculate standard deviations, variances, etc, the students can calculate them by hand and try to come together on the correct answer, possibly sparking a discussion.
